Theme of The Game
If I were to choose something that’s least impressive about Perfect Gems, then it would definitely be the gems. It’s not a matter of bad design, the slot is actually quite well put together, particularly when you consider that all you’re seeing on its reels is playing cards and gemstones. Those gems are handled well though, and they are set in gold or other materials.
Ranging from diamonds, to emeralds, sapphires or rubies, the game delivers a lot of its modern design in the form of these gems. The Royals may be well enough designed, but those are still letters and numbers that you’re seeing in them. The background appears to put the action in a wizard’s library or office.
Play n Go delivered quite a few modern slot machines along the way, and though the theme might not suggest it here, that’s definitely what we’re seeing in Perfect Gems as well. This Swedish developer is not a new one, they’ve been present in the gambling industry for over two decades now, since the late 90s.
They’ve launched a lot of great slot machines along the way, a few of those including titles like Reactoonz or Rise of Olympus. Something to keep in mind with them though, is that the casino is able to pick the RTP level. While their slots will reach levels of 96% or higher, certain casinos may use a lower setting, and the options go down to as little as 84%. Make sure you play at casinos that announce the RTP for their slots.
How To Play It
You will get your chance to play Perfect Gems, and the wagers that will be available to you will be set in a range of $0.20 to $100. You pick the wager here, nothing more, and then you’re ready to play the game.
The game borrows a bit from the Megaways system, even though it’s not using an official license, so it changes things somewhat. You get 6 reels here, with a Symbol Splitting feature which can get you up to 7 symbols per reel, and as many as 21,609 ways to win total.

The game area you get to play on will deliver two reels with 3 symbols each (columns 1 and 6), while the four reels from the middle will have up to 4 symbols normally, to which a horizontal reel can contribute with an additional 3 symbols. At its best, the game will deliver 21,609 ways to win, or Payways as the developer calls them.
The cascading reels are also going to play a major role, as they bring you additional wins through the new symbols that replace winning ones, and they also increase the multiplier by 1x each time.
You get the free spins by landing the usual 3 or more scatters, the result being that you get 9 to 27 rounds. Spin scatters give you additional free spins each time they show up after that, plus there are the Win Multipliers going up without resetting after each cascade. The potential is highest in this mode.
As with all games of this type, particularly when you take into account the increasing multipliers from the free spins, there are excellent prizes to be had. The highest possible reward is 5,000x total stake, or $500,000 cash. The slot’s getting a good RTP as well, of 96.50%, so it’s as fair as you’d expect from a slot.
Perfect Gems looks like a great alternative to the popular Megaways slots, even though in a lot of ways Play n Go seems to have inspired itself from that category.
